Engine 23-1

2004 American LaFrance Eagle Engine

This Engine was purchased used from the Huntington Township Fire District of Long Island, New York. Placed into service on February 1, 2009, this apparatus is designated as Engine 23-1. It has a six man cab with 6 MSA MMR SCBA. The Engine boosts a 2000 GPM, 2 stage Hale pump with 780 gallons of water and an Apollo 1000 GPM extenda-gun master stream. The Engine carries 1500 feet of 5" supply line, 300 feet of 3" line, a 150 foot 1 3/4" bumper line, a 150 foot crosslay and a 200 foot crosslay. There is a 150 foot 2 1/2" preconnect Blitz line off the rear as well as a preconnected Yamaha load (150 feet of 2 1/2" gated to 150 feet of 1 3/4" attack line). The apparatus is equipped with a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC), an MSA Orion 4 gas meter, QRS medical supplies, a Holmatro electric combi-tool, 2 sawzalls, cribbing, an 18" gas powered PPV, 20 gallons of AFFF-AR foam via an inductor system, a 6 kW on-board generator, water rescue equipment, and is RIT equipped too. The purchase of this used apparatus saved our community $200,000 as compared to building and purchasing a new apparatus.

Car 23

2003 Ford Expedition

Placed into service on 19 December 2007, this used vehicle became the Company's second Duty Officer vehicle. With the official radio designation of Car 23, the vehicle is utilized by the Duty Officer to conduct company business, respond to calls and set-up a mobile Command Post.

Rescue 23

2003 American LaFrance Eagle Rescue

Custom designed by the members of Union Fire Company, Rescue 23 is equipped to handle vehicle accidents and industrial rescues. The six man, air conditioined cab includes a Command Post work area with Fire, Police, EMS, EMA and local municipal radio frequencies as well as cellular phone capabilities. The unit is equipped with an on-board Hurst simo-unit and pre-connected Hurst Maverick Combi-tool, TNT Rescue Spreader, and TNT Rescue "O" Cutter. The unit also carries a portable Hurst simo-unit and 18"- 40" Hurst 3 Stage Ram. An 8,000 lb. portable winch with receiver hitches on all four sides of the vehicle. Four Ajax stabilization struts, 12 ton jack, (2) 8 ton jacks, (2) 5 ton jacks, and (4) high-stand jacks. A 3 ton chain come-along, 1 1/2 ton chain come-along, and 1/2 ton cable come-along. (2) Sawzalls - (1) battery operated DeWalt with electric conversion adapter and (1) corded DeWalt. There is an on-board low pressure air system for air powered tools as well as a portable air chisel. There is a full complement of hand tools as well. The unit provides scene lighting with a 6000 watt Wil-Burt light tower powered by a 35 kW Harrison hydraulic generator. There is a front mounted 1000 watt scene light, and (2) 1500 watt scene lights mounted on each side. The Rescue carries (4) portable 500 watt tri-pod lights and (2) 1000 watt Gen-lites with 300 watt lights attached. There are (4) life vests, (5) rope bags, stokes basket and Rapid Intervention equipment for Firefighter rescue. The unit also carries a trauma bag, backboards, oxygen, portable suction and an AED. It is equipped to handle Firefighter Rehab with an on-board refrigerator for bottled water and sports drinks, bag chairs, and misting fan attachment.

The unit is also equipped to respond to fire emergencies. There are (8) MSA MMR self-contained breathing apparatus with integrated PASS device. An MSA Thermal Imaging Camera, a 24 inch PPV (positive pressure fan), an 18 inch smoke ejector, 375 gpm portable pump, 150 feet of 3" supply hose, salvage covers, and (2) sump pumps. There are (4) ladders, a 24' extension ladder, 14' roof ladder, a 10' foot attic ladder and a Little Giant multiple configuration ladder. There are (4) saws, a 14" electric chainsaw, a 16" gas chainsaw, an 18" VentMaster, and a Demolition Saw. As well, there is a full compliment of pike poles, closet hooks and roof hooks.

The unit is also capable of responding to Hazardous Materials calls, carrying 200 lbs. of Oil Dry, absorbent booms and pads. An MSA Orion 4 gas meter, a non-sparking tool kit, and (2) dome lid clamps.

Tanker 23

1989 Pierce/Lance Pumper-Tanker

Custom designed by the members of Union Fire Company, Tanker 23 is designed as a rural attack piece. This vehicle is capable of carrying 6 Firefighters, two in the front and four in the jump seat. This unit has a canopy jumpseat, one of the last built prior to the NFPA change requiring fully enclosed jumpseat areas. The top mount pump allows the operator to be out of the street, away from moving traffic and able to see around the vehicle and incident scene. Tanker 23 is outfitted with a 1250 gpm Waterous pump and 1500 gallon water tank. It carries 1500 feet of large diameter supply hose. It also boasts two 200 foot pre-connect 1 3/4" crosslays and two 150 foot pre-connect 1 3/4" speedlays. A 150 foot pre-connected 2 1/2" blitz line is off the right rear, and a yamaha load - 150 foot of 3" hoseline gated to 150 foot of 1 3/4" attack line is off the left rear. Additionally, 300 feet of stacked 3" supply line is attached to a portable monitor off the rear step. A 7.5 kw on-board generator supplies electric to two 1500 watt pole lights. The tanker also carries 6 MSA MMR SCBA with 4 spare cylinders, a 35 foot extension ladder, 14 foot roof ladder, smoke ejector and trauma bag.
